About me

Hi! I'm Kylie. A few years ago, I graduated with a degree in biological sciences and no idea what to do with it. In order to shake things up and experience something entirely new, I moved to South Korea to teach English--an experience that changed my life and made me far more flexible and adaptable than before.

During my time overseas, I gave a lot of thought to what I truly wanted to do for the rest of my life. I remembered that when I was a kid, I always loved playing with HTML and CSS, building webpages, and of course, customizing my Neopets shop with the coolest background images and MIDI songs.

After returning to the USA, I reconnected with that passion and began studying web development in my free time. Luckily, it was as fun as I remembered it! As I continued, I learned how to solve problems and build full applications using front-end languages and frameworks like JavaScript and React.

During this time, I joined Cook Systems' FastTrack program, which helped me expand my skillset to the back end with technologies like Java and Spring Boot, as well as gain valuable experience collaborating and building projects with others as a team.

In my free time, I enjoy drawing (both digitally and traditionally), listening to weird music, and learning languages.
